Star Wars: A New Hope 25th Anniversary Casting Call

When I came up for the idea for the May Casting Call at FFURG to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of A New Hope, vintage customs from ANH, I knew right away this was the one figure I had to do. Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted my Luke Skywalker figure to have an actual right hand and not the one that had molded to it a lightsaber handle. So after getting a beat up vintage Luke I sliced the right hand off and got to work filling the lightsaber slot with sculpey. After the sculpey hardened, I repainted the entire figure from its ugly sunfaded yellow to more accurate colors of white and tan. Of course the white took several layers to mask out all the yellow. The replacement hand came from a POTF2 Endor Han Solo which was a nice fit in scale to the vintage figure. I then repainted both hands and the head a nice flesh tone, and gave Luke a new set of eyes and hair color. The overall paint scheme gives a more accurate view of Luke in A New Hope and after adding a ton of accessories, the lightsaber from a POTF2 Luke, the hat and rifle from Flashback Luke, and poncho from an Ep1 Accessory Pack, this Luke is ready for action.
