Jabba the Hutt employed a large number of individuals from many different species to guard himself, his palace, his guests, and his Sail Barge. This individual is a member of the Nikto species (which has many different races, just like humans on Earth) from the planet Kintan. Like many of his brethren, this guy's job was to protect Jabba aboard his Sail Barge. Though not seen, this Nikto had his arm severed by Luke Skywalker, when the Jedi and his Rebel companions attempted to rescue Han Solo in Return of the Jedi.
This is the result of parts leftover from several other customs including my Klaatu figure. Nikto was created using the body, arms, and staff of a Lando Skiff Guard, as well as the head and hands of a Nikto from the Skiff Guards Cinema Scene. I swapped the hands from those of Lando to those of Nikto. The chest was painted a dark tan while the armor straps and bandana on the head were painted black. When I tried to disassemble the figure I was unsuccessful, all I was able to remove was the left arm and that was poorly done, as the peg was torn off. To cover for this error, I added some red paint around the peg and adjoining hole to simulate the severing of this arm. It gives the illusion of bone and blood sticking out of the arm and still allows the arm to stay on the figure. With a Lando Staff in hand, Nikto now stands guard in my Jabba's Palace diorama.
