This droid acted as a counter part to CZ-1, but while its sibling handled
its masters business affairs CZ-3 handled the personal ones. While it's true
that both jobs could have easily been handled by one droid, their master
liked the prestige of having two droids in his service. CZ-3 is slightly
different in appearance than its sibling, take note of the chest panel, the
vocabulator cover (mouth), and the eyes. After surviving the crash CZ-3 was
rescued by a rival band of Jawas and later sold to Jabba the Hutt. The Hutt
had CZ-3 working with his accountants at the town house in Mos Eisley until
it was modified to act as a spy against a business rival. Unfortunately, this
modification exhausted the droid's already strained logic systems and it was
abandoned to the streets of Mos Eisley. CZ-3 can still be seen wandering
around without a purpose, twitching its head, still trying to over ride its
modified programming. A Jawa legend has it that Jabba installed an
explosive device on the droid, which is probably why CZ-3 has never been
reacquired by the scavengers. No one is sure how the droid still possesses
the battery power to still function.
