A fan-fiction project I created almost 10 years ago, DEADLINE is a team of intergalactic bounty hunters that patrol the galaxy serving justice for those that can afford it. Originally conceived as a comic book series, it will soon become a series of customized action figures starring in their own photonovels!

Packard is the team's weapons expert. There is not a weapon designed that he has not heard about, designed, or used himself. Packard worked in the Hapes Consortium as a weapons and starship designer. He grew disillusioned by their isolationist ideals, and left to travel the galaxy. Packard accepted a position at DEADLINE in order to make a profit from his work.

Since Packard is my version of the X-Men's Cable (big guy with guns), it seems appropriate that I used Cable for this custom. I used Cable IV for the main body, head and legs. The boots are from a Space Cable. Since I wanted to add articulation to the figure, I cut off the arms of a Secret Weapons Force Colossus and glued them on. The shoulder pads are from a Strong Guy figure, the helmet is made from sculpey, and the weapons are from various SOLDIER FORCE, XYBER 9, GODZILLA, and whatever else I could find!

Once I finished the sculpting and painting, I decided to add some hidden weapons onto his armor. Packarad's boots are huge, so it was easy to drill a few holes into them to store his secret weapons. His left boot hides a modified lightsaber, while his right boot hides three gas bombs. the small pack on his back now hides a knife that he can use in close combat. I even was able to cover up a mistake I made with his shoulder pad...I added a land mine in the hole I made when I accidentally driled through it!
