DEADLINE UPDATES

  January 7, 2002

Farewell to DEADLINE?
By now you may have heard about the merger of two of the biggest STAR WARS collecting sites out there. CollectStarWars.com and Rebelscum.com have decided to pool their resources, and bring you an even greater site than before.

I'm happy to report that one of their 'resources' is yours truly. I have joined the team at Rebelscum.com where I'll be doing various things, including of course bringing the hobby of customizing to a larger audience. I'm very excited about it!

I'm not entirely sure what will happen to this site as a result of the merger. I've got some ideas, but nothing is written in stone just yet. Needless to say, things are going to get pretty busy this year! I'll leave it up for the foreseeable future, but this will be the last update for now.

For those of you who DO stop by...there haven't been many updates since October because I've been busy running other websites! I also needed a break after the debut...Four months of the Daily Custom Updates 2001, followed by 2 months of updates here really took its toll. But, if you know me at all....you know how much fun I have doing this stuff! I've got a lot more stories to tell with the DEADLINE team, and I hope you'll stick around to check them out when I bring them back.

Before I go, I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank a few people who helped make this pet project of mine possible:

Mike Sullenger from Collect Star Wars: Who graciously agreed to host this site, allowing me to pursue my dream of finally doing something with these characters.

Travis Funk from Artoosnews: Not only did he agree to supply the prize for the DEADLINE Contest, but he spent many hours reading my ideas for it.

Rebelscum, Wicked Force Customs, The Power of the Customizer, Imperial Gallery, The Jawa: Thanks for allowing me to run rampant through your sites and agreeing to take part in this project of mine, even at the eleventh hour!

My partners at FFURG: It must have seemed like I was plugging this site on a daily basis for awhile there. At least we got some extra traffic from it!

Contest winners Link Stevenz and Neil Weber: your work was inspiring!

Judges Brett, Alec, and Larissa (my children): Thanks for helping out!
Special thanks to my wife Kristine for putting up with me taking pictures of toys until all hours of the night!

Finally, thanks to everyone that wrote in, and still do write in, with your words of support, ideas, and questions wondering "When is the next chapter coming out?"

When DEADLINE returns, you'll be sure to hear about it! I've got at least 5 more teammates to introduce you to, and at least three more story arcs to tell. In the meantime, be sure to check out Curto's Custom Alliance for my latest customs and projects.
