At first, I was just going to stick a pair of flippers on him and that was it. Then, I found the backpack in an old box of toys that my son had from when he was younger. I also found the little airhoses and I combined them all together.
I cut off the backpack of the Biker Scout and glued this new one onto the back of the figure. The result is that I lost movement in the figure, but that's okay. Then I drilled small holes into the helmet and air tanks and connected the air tubes.
The fun part was when I wanted to have him hold the rifle in both hands. The pose of the original figure was goofy and his arms were bent straight out from his sides. So I cut them off at the elbow and then glued them on in a better pose. BUT, it still wouldn't hold the gun....so I then cut it at a different angle, and decided to insert paperclip pieces into the limbs, which would not only hold them together, but also offer a little flexibility to the joints. TA-DAA! It worked!
Finally,I glued the flippers onto his feet and gave him some dirt and grime to his armor. I figured he might have gotten a bit rusty and slimy from hanging out in the oceans!
