MIRA PAU
Delvian Jedi Master, former member of the Jedi High Council
 |
|
This custom was first inspired by Tony Rice's Darth Seer, when I originally planned on making Mira as a Sith Lord. I changed my mind and instead Mira Pau is now a Jedi Knight. Here's the story I made up for Mira:
Mira Pau is a prominent member of the Jedi Order. This Delvian was discovered as a child and taken under the Jedi's care. She proved to be a fast learner and very adept in the ways of the Force. Her Delvian heritage helped her to become linked with nature, and Mira enjoys traveling to worlds with lush forests and teeming jungles.
To date, Mira has only taken on a single padawan since becoming a Jedi Master; a Rodian named Badoo Bok, who mysteriously disappeared in the Outer Rim territories. Many scoffed at Mira's instruction of the Rodian, believing that his species was incapable of learning the Force. Ignoring the taunts, Mira succeeded, and Badoo Bok became a full-fledged Jedi Knight. Mira believes her padawan still lives and one day she hopes to seek him out.
Mira's accomplishments earned her the title of Jedi Master and a seat of the Jedi High Council. She accepted a limited-term position that only recently came to an end. She was glad to leave the Council, as the duracrete and plasteel environment on Coruscant made her feel uncomfortable. Mira longed for the forests of her homeworld, and when her position was passed on to Ki-Adi-Mundi, she soon traveled back there.

Basically a spare parts custom, I came up with the design when I learned that Rystall's hair comes off. She makes an interesting custom! At first, I thought I make her some kind of a "She-Maul"--a female Darth Maul. But I decided to create an all-new Jedi instead. Since I have a whole collection of spare parts lying around, I just sort of poked around until I found some cool parts. I used David "Gramps" Hannebohn's idea of using plastic rods so she could have articulated wrists, but they are hard to swivel still. Oh well...
I painted the figure's head to resemble Zhann from FARSCAPE. I think it makes for a cool-looking Jedi. (It would be cool to make customs from this great tv series, but I hear there are toys in development. I cannot wait!) Oh, I decided on a double-bladed lightsaber after all...only I changed the blades to the "light side" colors. They are removable, which I accomplished by drilling a small hole in the handle and trimming the blades.
