LARO CLAN JEDI PADAWANS
Bacer Ja Laro, Bacbar Ga Laro, & Bacza To Laro
|
These figures were made for the nephews of a co-worker of mine last Christmas. The trio of Jedi padawans wanted to have themselves immortalized in action figure form, and I was happy to create these special custom figures for them. Their uncle created the names and origin stories for each one, using one of the many "create-your-Star-Wars-name" games out there. On Christmas day, the boys opened up their gifts...carded action figures in their likeness, complete with Jedi accessories and original card designs. Each figure was sealed in a Star*Case, although they could be opened up and played with if they wanted.

These were all pretty simple customs, requiring nothing more than parts-swapping and repainting the figures. I used all Anakin heads, in order to maintain a family resemblance, plus I had a few of them laying around. In order to get the "TRUE Jedi experience" for the kids, I added the cloaks and lightsabers into the packaging. I also included a REAL stand with each figure. But hopefully, they won't take them out of the package!!! :)
For Bacer Ja Laro, I carved away part of the hair, in order to mimic the reference picture.
For Bacbar Ga Laro, I added articulation to the right arm so he could swing the lightsaber. I also glued on the braid.
For Bacza To Laro, I cut off Yoda's hands and feet and glued new ones in place. I forget whose feet they are, since I don't have the figures anymore...I cannot check. Another glued on braid completed this figure. I also had to shorten the cloak to fit the smaller figure.
I wish the real Jedi Padawan figures were out at the time...it would have been so much easier to make these!!
