This custom was fun to make, but hard to actually KEEP together!
First, the head was an interesting challenge. I was going to simply sculpt the horns onto the head, but I suddenly had a leftover head of the Violater, so I used those rubbery horns. I am glad I did, as they are prety flexible. I glued them on,a nd then added sculpey for the rest of the head details.
The body was an easy choice, as I could easily repaint Qui-Gon's outfit to match Saesee's, but the arms would not stay in! Every time I moved them, the body fell apart! (turned out I was using an inferior brand of glue...what do you expect from the Dollar Store?)
Next, I removed the skirt from Qui-Gon, and glued on the felt one. It is open in the back, so he can sit down. Of course, I had to articulate the knees for him to sit, but that was easy by the time I made this guy!
Now, the hardest part....making the robe. I measured the material for the robe and sleeves, but they kept falling off. Then, I added the hood, but no matter which way I attached it, it too kept falling off. Well, finally I switched glues,a nd it stayed, almost taking my skin off with it! SHEESH!
Then, I simply gave him Luke's lightsaber, repainted him, and that was it!
