For this special set of customs, I wanted to try my hand at creating the packaging as well. I haven't done much in this area, but I thought I could do it! I wanted it to fit in with the STAR WARS line, but still be able to stand on its own. So, I came up with a simple design, and went to work!
I wanted to keep the same look as the rest of the Epsiode 1 line, so I used the same design that Hasbro is currently using. It also had to be big enough to fit the 12 fgures, 12 chairs, and the 3D diorama! The MAXIMUM CLONAGE box was almost perfect. The chairs fit in the borders, while the figures fit in the display window. The aboe image is just a mock-up, but it shows pretty much how this set would look if it were actually produced.
Of course, the front of the package is not enough.....it needs the other 5 sides as well! I decided to use a "line-up" shot of all the figures for the borders, while the back (which is the most fun to make!) has bio entries of them all. I swear, I don't know how they do it! the real challenge was trying to find decent pictures for them all. Most of them came from THE INSIDER'S GUIDE, but others were found in THE VISUAL DICTIONARY (where most of the text came from) and various issues of the INSIDER magazine.
The background of the package doubles as the floor to the diorama! I made this in smaller pieces in Photoshop and then duplicated it around in a circle. Then, I added a texture to it, blurred it, and made it look a bit dirty. All in all, I think it turned out great!

This Collector's Set was created especially for the "Casting Call" of The Jedi High Council over at FFURG. I wanted to create something different, and this sepcial boxed set was perfect!
