This is perhaps the coolest custom from this set, simply because I had no idea how to make him! The reference photo shown below (left) was the ONLY image I ever found of him, despite looking all over. This guy never stands up! Then, the STAR WARS #13 comic came out, and there he was, standing--and he is pretty tall! I wasn't sure what to do, so I put him off for a bit, while I made the rest of the figures.
Then, I had an idea....who says that Jedi HAVE TO be human? I thought what if he was snake-like, and he was all coiled up in his chair, but extended himself when he stood up?
I got the idea when I remembered the Gravedigger figure from the SPAWN line a few years back came with all these little "cohorts" that were all different colors. Well, the yellow one would be perfect!
I took the Barbie figure that my daughter had lying around (she has two, don't worry--I'm not a mean daddy!) and I scalped it! I was able to place the scalp on the "cohort's" head and wrap the hair around it, to try and get it to match the picture, or at least get the general idea behind it. i like the way it came out.
Then, I took the material and wrapped it around the figure, leaving it loose enough so that is could be folded when he was sitting, but also so that it could drape down when he was standing.
Oppo's lightsaber (if he even has one) was concocted by taking a blade I had lying around (Jedi Luke's) and gluin it to R5-D4's gun, that I cut off awhile back. It really gives him a unique look, which is cool. He can't hold it though, so it is attached by a rubber band.
Now, here is a previously-unpublished scan of Oppo's legs, er tail, whatever...(see image below)
