Daala was once the lover and protege of Grand Moff Tarkin, and he left her in charge of protecting the Maw Installation, a secret location where the Death Stars were built. When she learned of Tarkin's death, and the fall of the Empire, Daala took her fleet and set out to destroy the New Republic. She had several victories, but was ultimately defeated by a group of Jedi trainees. Daala resurfaced again a few years later, she attempted to unite the feuding Imperial warlords. Instead she kiled them all and took control of their forces, with Gilad Pellaeon at her side. She confronted the New Republic again and was unsuccessful. She barely escaped with her life. Years later, Daala and her followers settled on Peduccis Chorios, where she was reunited with her long-lost love, and she retired from military service altogether. Naboo Queen Amidala (head) Adi Gallia (arms) Grand Moff Tarkikn (body and gun) A fun custom to make! this is partially inspired by Paul Hruby's version of Daala, which I think is great. First I had to cut off the rank bars from Tarkin's chest, because I knew I'd be repositioning them later. Then I attached the head and armns from the other figures. I sculpted on her breasts and then cured the sculpey. Then I went back and added the flap of the front of the uniform, adding folds and ridges where needed. I also glued on the rank bars and repainted them to the right colors. The hair is actually two parts with two different materials: I first sculpted the hair near her head with Super Sculpey III, which is what I use most of the time. This hardens pretty stiff and is good for most uses. The braid which folds around the front of her shoulder was created with Sculpey Super Flex, which is my first time using it. It hardens nicely, and is just flexible enough so that Daala retains the articulation in her neck. I painted the hair and I was done! I also played around with a quick card design, where I added the Expanded Universe logo to a POTJ card....just for fun!
