Another pretty simple custom with minor modifications. I just took the red Clone Trooper and painted the red parts yellow, which took a few coats, and still came out a bit too orange in some spots. But we can get away with calling it weathering!
As you can see in the last image below, a modification to the arms was necessary, because the red Clone Captain's arms don't actually come anywhere near the head. In order to make it appear as if the yellow Clone Commander was watching through the scanners, I cut the arms off at the gauntlets. Actually, a few cuts were needed. I then glued the forearms closer to the bicep armor, and used the smaller cut pieces to fill in the gaps. With a little black paint, it is easy to conceal any irregularities. The nice thing is that the bicep articulation is still intact!
After trying several scanners, I finally settled on the Sandtrooper's. No doubt Hasbro will be releaseing a figure like this, and it will come complete with an acurate scanner. At that point, I'll replace this one.
