LANDO CALRISSIAN

Ralph McQuarrie was the original artist for STAR WARS and EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. He designed the "first look" of many of the charcters we are familiar with now, some of whom had a much different look than they do today. This early version of Lando Calrissian shows off the character's flair for flashy clothing, a trait he still continues in the final version of the character. I had a pair of legs that would work, but they had no middle section (crotch) holding them together. I did have one from a Fleet Trooper from another custom years ago...so I squeezed the legs in place and glued the loincloth pover the belts. Next, I changed hands with Valorum and Lando, and sculpted on additional details. I also cut the robe shorter and glued on pieces onto the shoulders. Then, I just glued him together and painted him. That's it.
