This is how Badoo appears in most of the story. This is his "Bralla" disguise.
When I first saw the picture (see below) of the background Rodian walking towards Mos Espa on the BEHIND THE SCENES CD-ROM, I always thought there was some kind of story there. Who was this guy? What did he do? And of course he was not shown in the movie....but rather one of the many background characters in Mos Espa.
When I was putting together the ideas for Badoo's story, I watched THE PHANTOM MENACE again and I noticed several times in the movie, there is a Rodian behind Qui-Gon Jinn. You only see his head, or an arms, or something small like that, but it started me thinking of that lone Rodian from the CD-ROM. Maybe I could tie in all these pieces together into one story?
So, I had the ideas, and after watching the film, I could justify the "appearances" of Badoo Bok. I added some ideas that could also explain some strange elements of the movie, like Qui-Gon's behavior, Anakin's pod stalling, the Sith probe droids, and even a certain female bounty hunter. These things may be explained in details by someone else one day as the "official" story, but to me, I already have the answers.
For this custom, I simply head-swapped Luke and Greedo, and cut-and-glued the hands. Then I painted his outfit based on the photo (at least what I think the colors are) and that was it.
I decided to paint Badoo's skin a darker shade of green, and then add a lighter drybrush to it. This was so he would have his own unique look and also to represent the dryness of his skin from Tatooine's twin suns.
Just for fun, I added some texture and details to the backpack. Just to make it look dingy and used.
