In the BLACK FLEET CRISIS trilogy of novels, Lando Calrissian and Lobot (along with C-3PO and R2-D2) stow away aboard an alien vagabond craft. They find themselves trapped inside of it for weeks, eventually discovering that the craft is alive and it acts as a repository of the memories and history of an alien race called the Qella. Eventually Luke Skywalker helped them discover that the alien creature was actually a means to restore the Qella from their self-imposed hibernation. These suits are what they wore when they first boarded the craft.
