This was inspired by the ATTACK OF THE CLONES Jedi Knight figures that all featured "action poses" and were part of the Geonosian Arena battle at the end of the movie. I felt that I wanted Badoo Bok to appear in my displays, and I've been wanting to do another custom of this character, so it was the perfect opportunity to do it!
The first thing I did was cut the head off of Obi-Wan. Normally, I'd "boil and pop" the head, but I was afraid I'd ruin the lightsaber slashing action built into the figure if I did. I trimmed the neck peg of Greedo so that it was pointed and would be easier to be inserted inside the neck hole.
Then I cut off the hands and glued the Greedo hands on. The problem is that when I tried to give him a double-handed grip, the hands kept breaking off! So I thought I'd try another trick. I drilled small hole into both the hands and arms and inserted a paperclip into it. This not only acts as a means to hold the hands together, but also gives articulation for your figure! So now he can be in different lightsaber-swinging poses!
I kept the color scheme similar to the old version of the custom I made 2 years ago, only more of the traditional style. I added a little detail to the boots, but kept the dirt and worn-in style off for this figure. I also repainted his skin tone to be a healthier shade of green than the previous versions, because he's not living on Tatooine anymore, so he's in better condition.
I used the same recipe for the lightsaber that I used before, except that I didn't add the hook on the end. Although I DID keep the blade removable...which also makes him fit in better with the AOTC figures.
Just for fun, I played around with some packaging for this figure as well. The card is from a Bespin Duel Luke Skywalker, with a custom-made insert and the background from one of the figures...I forget which one.
I also added thumbnails to the older versions of this character, in case you'd like to check them out too!
