B'OMARR MONK
Human monk, before enlightenment

The B'omarr monks believe that by cutting off all sensation, one can focus and enhance the power of the mind, journeying through inner space. The monks rarely even speak to one another, let alone others, which helps to create fearful rumors and mysterious tales of their religion. They have built a citadel on Tatooine, which had been overrun by gangsters and crimelords, most notably Jabba the Hutt. When B'omarr monks reach an enlightened stage, they have their brains surgically removed and placed in nutrient jars.

This figure really took some time and planning. I made this guy a couple of years ago but I was not at all satisfied with it. I came up with the idea of a removable brain so I decided to start over. I gathered all the parts together first after a lot of mixing and matching. I popped Lukes torso open and had to do some modifying to make the parts fit together. I took off Lukes skirt and replaced it with Leia's ceremonial skirt and also glued a piece of Slave Leia's skirt to the front for the sash. I also cut a line down the side of the skirt so you could move the legs. I then used a chunk of Chancellor Valorum's robe to make the overlapping shirt. I used A/B Epoxy to make the rest of the outfit. The head came from those cheap Soldier Force figures. I chopped the top of his head off and hollowed it out for the brains. I made his hip shades and head cowel with A/B Epoxy. The brain was made from Super Sculpey and covered with Super glue. The hat was a GI joe cap with a plastic ring glued on for the rim. The rim is the non-clear (other half) part of those gumball containers we use for the R3's. The rest of the hat and the medallion is also made from A/B Epoxy. His walking stick is Wicket's staff with the spear head cut off. I would love to have a little diorama of Monk's doing brain surgery on each other and show the before and after enlightenment process.
