Follow these steps:
1) Take the A-Wing completely apart.
2) Using the Dremel, cut "blast holes" in the ship.
3) Carefully light a match and run the flame around the edges of the hole you cut, so that the plastic singes lightly.
4) For variety, take a match and hold it close to the plastic so that it heats it up without burning it. When hot, deform the plastic as desired.
5) When all your holes are done, use plastic tubing and whatever else you have lying around to make "guts" for the ship. I recommend using styrene strips and following the "weld seams" from the ship's hull. This gives a nice structured look.
6) When you have all your guts assembled, put the ship back together. Make sure everything fits inside.
7) Drybrush coats of gray paint around blast areas. Highlight with silver and black as desired.
8) The secret is to not have this look perfect. It looks better if the paint is smudged and the edges are jagged. Remember, this ship has been blasted!
