Ash was once a happy young boy. He learned the ways of the Pokemon and developed a bond with his own Pikachu. The two entered the Pokemon championship tournaments along with Ash's friends Misty and Brock. Ash trained and mastered many Pokemon skills--eventually earning the honored title of Pokemon Master Trainer.
But Ash was much envied by some of his fellow trainers. Not only was Ash the youngest Pokemon Master Trainer ever, but he bonded with every Pokemon he encountered, winning their love and trust. What even Ash did not know, this ability to bond with Pokemon was due to his latent Force powers. Ash would never have a chance to develop his Force potential, as tragedy soon struck.
Shortly after Ash earned his Master Trainer title, Team Rocket--an opposing team that often lost Pokemon battles to Ash--attempted to discredit Ash by luring him into a battle even he could not win. The plan backfired however, when Ash's teammates Misty and Brock fell victim to Team Rocket's evil plan. Misty and Brock did not even have time to call their own Pokemon when they were killed in Team Rocket's trap.
Something died in Ash that day. Through his anger and pain, Ash was able to tap into the Dark Side of the Force. Since Ash had developed such a strong bond with all Pokemon, he was able to force his will on them. Ash immediately forced the Pokemon to attack Team Rocket and kill them. The Pokemon resisted, but Ash's will was too strong. The other Pokemon Master Trainers tried to stop Ash, but to no avail. Ash forced all Pokemon to attack the trainers and kill them as well. Ash's own Pokeomn--Pikachu--was able to sneak away in the confusion, thus avoiding the wholesale slaughter.
When the massacre was over, Ash surveyed the scene. Everything that he had held dear was now dead, and it was by his own hand. He realized that the challenge tournaments he had played for so long was a foolish quest. He could see now first-hand the real result of combat. The ugly horrors of war. His life had been a lie.
At that moment, Ash vowed to rid the galaxy of "misleading icons". Anything that misled the innocent mind with innocence and cuteness would be destroyed, for that is not the way of the universe. Gathering the surviving Pokemon, Ash began his hunt.
Years later, Ash--now an adult--had earned quite a reputation for his skills with his Pokemon, becoming a reputable bounty hunter. He still follows his personal mission, but he funds his war with outside contracts. One of his recent contracts was to hunt down Han Solo for Jabba the Hutt...a contract he refused. Pleased by Ash's bold move, the Hutt offered Ash a different contract: a special trip to the Endor system and a meeting with a race called Ewoks.
